Some Things to Think About
By: Joshua A. Drawdy on 16 Dec. 2007

I will not say who or what, because both are insignificant at this point, though I am still angry over the situation. I had an encounter where I had something that was mine and someone was going to take it. Normally I wouldn't blow up over it if they did take it, but this time I did in a major way. I went to the point of doing things that I shouldn't have done in my anger. It started out as a righteous anger, but turned unrighteous. But what it comes down to is that in America today, no one seems to respect the property of others. This person stole from me when I left the property right after I told them not to touch the object that they took. Needless to say, the property cannot be returned because it is now gone. Anyway, America cannot survive if this continues. I was leading a discipleship group this very afternoon and the lessons are on the 26 characteristics of a good (spiritual leading into secular) leader. The first one is trustworthiness. If I can't trust someone with something that cost 40 cents, how can I trust them with anything else. I have lost respect for them and probably won't give them respect anymore for this reason. It comes down to respect, trust, and the home. If children aren't learning this stuff at home, and parents aren't enforcing it as necessary, America will continue its decline as we fall into further immorality. This is just one example of immoralities and "judgements" that our nation is facing as it turns from the face of God and more towards the "me" attitude. All I know to say is, parents, teach your children right from wrong and show them the consequences of doing the latter. If we don't, they may think they can get away with anything as this person did.

On another note, please also remember our military. The last time I wrote, I mentioned that I will be going in through the ROTC in the near future. It is now within sight. As I get ready for field training in June, and get ready to sign a contract with the Air Force soon after, I will continue to need your prayers and support. I also have a friend who will be going to Marine training at the same time that I am gone to training. So there are now three of us out of about eight in my college Sunday School class involved with the military. We are stepping up to do what we believe we are truely called to do and would really appreciate your support and prayers as we seek to accomplish training and everything beyond. As always, God bless. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
